Let me preface this by saying I do not think leggings are ‘out’ of style and I do still wear them for workouts and on other occasions. I have just moved away from them being a staple in my wardrobe.
Part of the reason is that I relied so heavily on them post babies that they now remind me of a time when I felt outside my own body if that makes sense. Over time I’ve tried to invest in options that are still comfortable and relaxed but make me feel a wee bit more put together.
Let’s chat options:
Trousers
Okay, this may sound uncomfortable but I am referring to a high waisted and loose through the hips trouser that looks chic but is still comfortable. They give me a waist but don’t hug any part of my body and work with sneakers or a comfortable flat.
Here’s a few I love: Target trouser, A&F Trouser, Madewell Trouser
Tailored Sweatpants
It may sound counterintuitive but I think a tailored sweatpant can feel more structured than a legging and quite frankly is generally more comfortable. There have been so many new styles emerging since I invested in my Varley pair last year and I can’t recommend them enough!
Here’s a few I love: Aritzia sweatpant, Athleta sweatpant, Target pull-on pant
Baggy Jeans
Can I say I am thrilled these are ‘back’ and trending. It’s like a denim sweatpant and is so easy to throw on with a tee or more fitted top and flat and feel pulled together and uber comfortable. I own this Madewell pair and highly recommend, size down one size!
Here’s a few I love: Target jeans, Target jeans, A&F jeans
So tell me, have I won you over? ha!
xx,
