+ a few thoughts on why I decided to jump on the bandwagon.
Well, hello!
I guess we are doing this? I’m not going to lie, I resisted this for a very long time only because I am a grandma about technology and resist all new forms despite this being one of my professions. I still rebuke Tik Tok, Facebook, and Twitter and will remain in that camp, ha.
(a little afternoon treat while I sat down to write)
Honestly, a big part of me has always thought ‘why fix what isn’t broken?’ but I was recently reminded that I wouldn’t have this space if I had listened to that advice. I stepped out of my comfort zone as a dentist to start sharing my love for fashion 14 years ago and it’s led me here. So why not?
I’ve never had a true newsletter but this feels like the start of a new adventure and a great way to build this community. I’ve said this many times before but when we were struggling with Infertility and going through some really difficult times, the women here helped me through. The support and love you all share with me and hopefully feel in return is why I continue to love this job that doesn’t often times feel real. So here’s to connecting more!
Now, let’s talk about what you will see here and please know this will never be anything but free. Over the past few years I have transitioned my long from content from my blog to Instagram and sharing that advice in video format. I enjoy the medium and it seems to resonate more with you all as well. That basically left my blog as a hub for me to share more personal aspects of my life which you now connect with in my ‘Life Lately’ posts.
Recently more websites have been lifted and all their data copied and hosted elsewhere which is why you can not find blog posts about sensitive matters on my site. It’s a bummer but online privacy really is something I think about a lot when it comes to myself, my family, and people around me and we are all just doing the best we can right?
Anyhow, that lead me here! It’s a place where we can hopefully build a community and chat on a more personal level. I also love that if you are old school like me these will hit your inbox like a traditional email and you can come back to reference old posts.
I’m hoping to share my first Weekend Chats here tomorrow and you all can let me know what you think about this new adventure!
